Learn how to access the dashboard, set up basic permissions, and prepare your server to use all of Nekotina's features.
The Nekotina dashboard is the web panel where you configure your Discord server: welcome messages, social alerts, custom commands, selfroles, and much more. This guide walks you through the first steps before diving into specific tutorials.
Prerequisites
- Nekotina must be invited to your server with the required permissions.
- Your Discord account needs administrator permissions or a role with dashboard access.
- Keep the recommended permissions list from the wiki handy.
Step 1 — Access the dashboard
- Go to nekotina.com and click Log in.
- Authorize access with your Discord account.
- Open Dashboard and select the server you want to configure.
If you don't see your server, make sure Nekotina is invited and you have sufficient permissions.
Step 2 — Review general settings
- Open Main → Settings (
/settings). - Configure the basics:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Command prefix | How prefix commands are used (default !) |
| Bot language | Language of Nekotina's responses on your server |
| Server timezone | Used by birthdays, recurring messages, and other scheduled features |
- Click Save changes.
Timezone matters: the native birthdays module and recurring messages rely on it.
Step 3 — Dashboard role permissions
On the same Settings page, the Permission roles section (visible to the server owner) defines who can use the dashboard:
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Dashboard manager roles | Configure dashboard modules |
| Moderator roles | Bot moderation features |
| Shop manager roles | Server economy and shop |
Assign these roles to your staff so you're not the only one who can manage the bot.
Step 4 — Role order in Discord
Before setting up selfroles, autoroles, or birthdays, check in Discord that:
- Nekotina's role is above any roles the bot must manage.
- Nekotina has Manage Roles, Send Messages, and Embed Links in the channels you'll use.
Without this, many features will fail silently or show permission errors.
Step 5 — Explore the dashboard
The sidebar groups features by category:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Main | Settings, customization, AI chatbot |
| Announcements | Welcome, birthdays, levels, goodbye |
| Social alerts | Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram… |
| Automation | Recurring messages, autopost, autoreactions |
| Entertainment | Starboard, music, confessions |
| Utilities | Actions, autoroles, custom commands, tags, logs |
| Server shop | Items, shop, members |
The dashboard home page offers quick links to Settings, Welcome, Server Actions, and Autoroles.
